Dinner Jacket/Tuxedo:
Two-piece one button fastening black costume, complemented with silk lapels and lace on the side-seams of the trousers, possibly with cummerbund or matching waistcoat, normal collar shirt with double cuff; black flat shoes and black long socks. The lady can both in short, three fourth or long come forward depending on the personal choice.
The dinner jacket is carried in the evening exclusively at diners, receptions, weddings and festivals in general.
Long Dinner Jacket/Long Tuxedo:
Two-piece open black costume with cutted up silk lapels and also lace on the side-seams of the trousers, complemented with a starched pique shirt with studs and wing collar, starched pique waistcoat and bowtie;.
Black flat shoes and black long socks.
The lady steps exclusively in a long evening dress.
The long dinner jacket is the most official dress and is likewise exclusively carried in the evening at grand balls, banquet and weddings.
Exception is the promotion ceremony by day, where it is usual that both doctoral student and supporters in long dinner jacket come forward.
Pay attention to! At the free university in Amsterdam and the university in Leiden both doctoral student and supporters must appear with black waistcoat.
Morning Coat:
Three-piece one button fastening black costume with to the back walking away long pawn, grey waistcoat and lined trousers; normal white shirt with double cuff (at the bridegroom it is desirably adapt the shirt in the colour of the bride dress); black flat shoes and black long socks; grey top hat and grey gloves.
The morning coat is the most official daily dress and is exclusively carried at official receptions of dignitaries and weddings up to the reception.
For the lady a lady suit with hat is most usual.
It�s absolutely not usual the diner sit at the table in morning coat.
